Long traffic jams and 35°C+ days push car AC systems to their limit. A few habits help:
- Replace the cabin filter regularly — a clogged filter reduces airflow and causes smells.
- Keep the condenser clean; dust and insects in front of the radiator reduce cooling.
- Don’t just top up gas repeatedly. If cooling drops within weeks, there is a leak that should be found and fixed.
- Run the AC at least once a week, even in winter, to keep seals lubricated.
An AC performance check measures vent temperature and system pressures, so the real cause is fixed the first time.
